West Vs Rest: The division of the world

by Analysis Desk May 1, 2024 0 Comment

According to the situation nowaday the whole globe is divided into two different parts. In one part those countries lie that support the United States and the Western nations. The remaining one is known as “ Rest”. With this type of partition many countries of the world are upset. This is because the United States and its allies are being unfair. They say one thing and do another. Also the United States uses their power to intimidate others.

This double behavior of the US was evident on April 18 when it voted on the United Nation Security Council Resolution. The United Nations‘ decision to grant full membership to the State of Palestine is underscored by the surprising alignment of votes. Despite the support of 12 out of the 15 Security Council member states, which notably included staunch US allies like Japan, the Republic of Korea, and France, the abstentions of the United Kingdom and Switzerland have heightened the astonishment surrounding the US response.

This incident is one of the indicators of the rising isolation of the United State.  This Is due to the  unwavering backing of Tel Aviv in the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, which reached its 200th day on Tuesday. What’s more concerning is that the US no longer feels compelled to conceal this bias.

Aid of Israel through passing a bill of $26

Furthermore, the current President of the United States Joe Biden signed a bill having amount $26 to help Israel. Also they help Israel with the large cache of weapons along with the knowledge of the humanitarian crisis of Palestinian in Gaza. In December, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken played a pivotal role in circumventing US Congress to supply military weapons to Israel, a move that occurred amid global consternation over the relentless bombing of Gaza by Israeli forces.

Is Hamas responsible for deaths in Palestine

Blinken said in 2023 in the press conference of Country Reports on Human Rights Practices on Monday “Hamas’s horrific attacks on Israel on Oct 7 last year and the devastating loss of civilian life in Gaza as Israel exercises its right to ensure that those attacks never happen again, have also raised deeply troubling human rights concerns.” The speech of Blinken is disturbing because the United State makes Hamas responsible for 34000 deaths in Palestine.

In this ratio more than 14000 children were included. But most of the countries in the world denied it.

The US and its allies have faced criticism for their perceived double standards following Iran’s retaliation against Israel for its attack on the Iranian diplomatic compound in Syria, which resulted in the deaths of two senior Iranian generals. While the US and G7 vehemently condemned Iran and threatened fresh sanctions, they remained notably silent on Israel’s actions and downplayed the severity of the situation in Gaza as merely “unacceptable.”

During a UN session where the US rallied 48 members to condemn Iran’s retaliation, US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield inadvertently exposed a significant dissenting view, as more than 140 UN members disagreed with the US stance on the issue.

Furthermore, according to chief Joseph Borrell “if the current global geopolitical tensions continue to evolve in the direction of ‘the West versus the Rest’, Europe’s future risks being bleak” But the United States refuses to accept it.

While Antony Blinken pointed fingers at the human rights records of various countries, he overlooked the deteriorating human rights situation within the US itself.

Following complicity in the Gaza atrocities, the US has remained silent regarding the egregious violation of women’s rights, notably after the US Supreme Court revoked abortion rights in November 2022, overturning Roe v. Wade.

Furthermore, rampant gun violence, a widening wealth gap, increasing racial discrimination, and homelessness are pervasive issues plaguing American society. A November report from the UN Human Rights Committee criticized US policies not only regarding women’s reproductive rights but also concerning the torture of women, the excessive use of force by law enforcement agencies, and immigration policies.

The bottom line

Such bullying and hypocrisy of the United States will only spread hate across the globe. The result of it is the isolation of the United State and its allies from the international community.
