UK urges immediate action: Cease conflict between Hamas and Israel
7 October 2023, was the date when the conflict between Israel and Hamas started. It’s been nine months but the situation remains dire in Gaza. Many innocents lost their lives in this conflict and still Palestinian in Gaza continue to suffer and die. With the passage of time, the humanitarian crisis is getting worse. The rising tension between Israel and Lebanon is also concerning. This could also lead to more conflict in the region.
It is important to stop the conflict in order to bring peace across the world. The President of the United Kingdom also did the right thing by saying that we need to stop fighting in Gaza right away, let all hostages go quickly, and send lots of help there fast. Egypt, Qatar and the United State should also take part in this effort. Resolution 2735, is one of the best things that makes the situation better. Both Palestine and Israel should be flexible in talks and also follow the international laws in order to bring peace across the world.
Safety of civilians is one of the top priorities for Israel. They should allow unrestricted aid into Gaza to reactivate the facilities once again. Also it is the responsibility of the United Nation and humanitarian organization to make sure that these aid safely deliver to those who need it. In order to save lives in Gaza, it is also important to support UNRWA. Also it offers essential services, and promotes stability in the West Bank and beyond. This stability is a key foundation for long-term peace. It’s essential for UNRWA to have stable funding and the capability to fulfill its mission effectively.
It is also worrying that settlers in the West Bank are increasing violence day by day. Also Israel’s recent move makes things worse. They expanded settlements and claimed 2,357 hectares of West Bank land as ‘state lands’ this year, the largest such claim since the Oslo Accords. This action of Israel breaks international laws and makes it impossible to achieve a two-state solution. In order to promote peace it is important to stop these types of illegal activities.
This conflict does not need any military aid. This is because military actions will only worsen things and increase the period of conflict. It also prolongs the suffering for Palestinainsa nd Israelis. Also it is not acceptable that the death rate in Gaza is increasing day by day. It is also shocking to know that Israel still continues to destroy the things in Gaza. Recent reports of civilian casualties from Israeli strikes near schools and humanitarian zones were shocking. In order to stop such kinds of things it is important to take urgent steps that protect the lives of civilians.
The conflict also impacted on the lives of children. Many innocents become orphans in this war. According to the United Nation, more than 17,000 children in Gaza are currently without their families, and over 5,000 women have been reported killed, with many more whose fates remain unknown. Among the casualties, many are mothers. Children are facing risk of death, injury and also threaten to lose their families. Palestinians are struggling to secure food in order to survive and maintain their health. Sexula-violence is also disturbs the lives of many girls. So, it is important to stop such types of things and take strict actions against Israel that create such an environment in Palestine.
In order to bring peace across the world, it is important for both Israel and Palestine to fulfill their commitments. Two-state solution is the best way to end the conflict. This solution ensures a secure Israel and a sovereign Palestinian State, which is the undeniable right of the Palestinian people.
The recent visit by the UK Foreign Secretary underscores the strong dedication to this goal.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom has engaged with the Israel President and Prime minister Abbas to fulfill their commitment and actively support a ceasefire. This can be done by following the two-state solution. With this strategy both Israel and Palestine state coexist peacefully.
