The Nakba continues : Urgent action needed from world leaders
History is again repeating itse;lf regarding Nakba. The people in Palestine are marking the Nakba, which means “ catastrophe” this year. It’s the same as what happened 80 years ago when their own land was not safe for them. It’s also caused by the same group of people.
The illegal occupation of Israel in Palestine is causing a lot of disaster.
This occupation destroys everything Palestinian have built. With all of this, many Palestinian also died regularly
In 1948, around 800,000 Palestinians were forced out of their homes, becoming refugees in just one day. Many experienced violence, massacres, and the destruction of their towns and villages by new settlers who wanted to replace them and take over their land. This led to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
It is crucial to get to know that the people in Palestine are still suffering and nothing has not stopped yet now. The people in Gaza are still fighting for their rights and lives. The Gaza war makes the situation too tough and things are critical for the people living there.
It’s hard to believe that even after more than 70 years, Palestinians are still going through a new disaster in Gaza. The Israeli forces keep attacking, and it’s led to the deaths of over 35,000 people, mostly innocent women and children. It’s also forced 1.9 million Palestinians out of their homes in Gaza, leaving them with nowhere safe to go. This has created a really serious problem for people there.
Additionally the world is not doing anything to assist Palestinian. The inaction of the globe is really sad. How can one just stand by and watch this happen again and again? It is imported to help those who are suffering and treated unfairly.
It is important to understand the sensitive situation in Gaza, also what’s happening to the Palestinians is part of a bigger problem of colonialism around the world. Along with Palestinian many other groups, like in Africa, have been hurt by colonialism too. Kenya is a good example.
The way Kenya was colonized was brutal, with violence and stealing land, much like what’s happening to the Palestinians. They’ve both been pushed out of their homes and denied their basic rights. By seeing these connections, we can build stronger support for everyone who’s suffering and work together for a fairer future.
Separation of the country is only the solution for peace. It is important to give Palestinian their own country which they’ve been denied for so long. This means following international rules and letting them have their own state, alongside Israel.
Different countries have been fulfilling their promises by accepting Palestine as a separate State. This reflects the strong support from most United Nations member states. Except the United States, different nations support the idea that Palestine should become a United Nation Member State. The US used its veto power and disagreed with the idea.
Last week, the international community reiterated its support by voting in favor of granting Palestine representation rights at the UN. They also called on the UN Security Council to endorse Palestine’s full membership.
The best way to solve the conflict is to hold people accountable for their actions. It is important to face the terrible things done with Palestinians. There’s a history of awful events, like the Deir Yassin massacre in 1948 and the Sabra and Shatila massacre in 1982. It’s important to recognize and deal with these terrible acts if we want to move forward and stop more from happening.
Back to 1948, things are very different now. Due to the popularity of social media and technology everyone can familiar with the worst situations in Gaza. How bad things are happening there with the people of Palestine. Many people, including Palestinians and lots of countries, think that what’s happening in Gaza is genocide.
The people who live in Palestine just want justice. They want to live freely with dignity and without being controlled by others. Palestinians also want to go to their homelands, which they had to leave because of conflicts.
We should promise again to try to make things right for the Palestinian people. We need to listen to their calls for freedom and fairness, and aim for a future where everyone, no matter where they come from or what they believe, can live together peacefully and happily. Not doing this would be like turning our backs on what makes us all human.
